"I'm so grateful for all your reassurance and advice about my voice. I never realised Speech Therapy was so varied, and was something that would help me. I have felt my voice improve hugely, and i am hopeful now that i can get over this. I would recommend Vickey for her kindness and expertise, even if just for a single consultation. Thank you!"

"Vickey worked with us for nine months as my husband recovered from his stroke. She was engaging and supportive, and linked in well with the NHS Therapist who was also working with us. We really valued her advice and remain in touch for a review. We would certainly recommend her."
“I really enjoyed my day of shadowing with you as it gave me a chance to see a different area of Speech Therapy. I have had interviews at three universities to study the degree and found the notes from my time with you really useful as they gave me some great experiences to talk about. I had offers from all three and accepted my first choice. I am over the moon! I'm really excited about the future and I just wanted to say thank you as the time I spent with you contributed to my decision to pursue Speech Therapy and really helped my applications! Thank you."
“You helped me find my voice.”

"Vickey is very patient and gives you time, prompting and encouraging in a gentle and not pushy way. She has been a great help to me and I would certainly recommend her to help anyone get their life back on track."
"I am very happy to recommend Ms Petrie's work. My mother who had had a stroke in January last year was left with restricted powers of communication. This was very frustrating for her - she had always been an extremely communicative person - all the more so when trying to explain something important as she was rendered unintelligible. Ms Petrie not only spent time with my mother but helped her and us create a 'bridge' which enabled us to reach her better than before. Ms Petrie asked lots of questions about my mother's tastes and hobbies as a result she often went to the garden with her and sometimes came with flowers the colours of which would stimulate my mother and also relax her so that she could speak a few almost 'normal words'. Ms Petrie also did organisational and administrative things which I could not do because I lived in Germany; this was a great comfort to me - and I think 'beyond the call of duty'. I have only praise for her patience and commitment."
"I have been working with Vickey for a couple of months now and I have found her to be highly knowledgeable in her field, as well as very friendly, courteous and professional. She has already helped me a lot and come up with some great ideas. I look forward to continuing to work with her in the future. Thank you, Vickey."
"I am a nurse working in a nursing home. After our training session with Vickey I feel I understand so much more about Dysphagia now, which will help me with looking after the residents in my section. I enjoyed watching the video of the swallowing reflex and tasting the thickened fluids (even though they did not taste very nice!)."

"Vickey has been a linchpin in the rehabilitation of my wife after she suffered a severe stroke. Vickey quickly assessed in which direction she would be able to steer my wife through the boredom of routine speech processes: she designed her sessions to profit from where the patient's interests lay. In her professional roll she uses her abundant charm to get the best out of an often weary and bored patient. I shall be sad when she can offer my wife no more help and I would recommend Vickey's services without reservation."

“Vickey is thorough and very professional. She is kind and thoughtful and generous with her time. Her overall service is excellent and we would recommend her to any potential user.”
